Addiction

PLEA offers a continuum of services for young people whose substance use is problematic. Our programs use a unique, family care home model - which means living with a family trained in youth addiction. This way the young person remains connected to the community and experiences a family environment. We meet with each person and provide individualized plans based on their strengths and needs, to help them overcome challenges and meet their goals.

Our addiction programs include:

Youth Detox

PLEA offers a community-based service for young people who need help with substance use.  Youth Detox can give youth the time they need to evaluate their life and goals.

Youth Detox serves youth up to 21 years of age, with priority given to those 16 and under.   Participants stay with one of our detox family caregivers in their home and are connected with a one to one support worker who helps them achieve their goals.  Participation is completely voluntary and youth can stay for up to 10 days.  The program ensures the immediate needs of the youth are met and provides a door to access appropriate ongoing services in the community.
